    Escape: ‘To get through the day'

    Cohen and Taylor (1992: 30).

    This presentation is a research snap shot. It is not directly about the actual practices and strategies of (it might point towards these), rather it is suggestive of the way in which escape is talked about in everyday contexts and interactions. For the data we use social media to uncover the conversations where we overhear individual's widespread and routine discussion of escape and escaping.

    This research suggests that individuals are using 'escape' to:

    1.Stimulate interaction and/create content.
    2.Express shared experiences.
    3.Access social media as an outlet for escape...

    Surely the very thing that individuals may seek to escape from???...
